Literature Text

Just now, I closed my eyes and saw your face.
I thought that smile has been erased.
Somehow, I sense your presence lingering.
I can still feel your warm embrace.

Imprinted in my memories
Your voice - that sweet melody,
Is always near, always there, everywhere.
Forget those bedtime stories
'Bout how we're eternity.
Just one week. I will be pleased. That's all I need.

What should I do?
I can't forget
The time we first kissed and embraced in the sunset.
Can't say goodbye
To memories of blissful times.
Feel so blue
Without you,
Should start anew but how can I continue?
I wish I knew
How to get through renewed. Bid adieu.

And now, some time have gone and passed my way.
I'm still haunted by the old days.
I longed for amnesia to strike my heart,
But I still remember your grace.

Cannot stop these emotions,
Tell me "it's an illusion,
No need to fear. I'm still here. Are we clear?"
Gave myself isolation.
Cannot find a solution
To stop these tears running fierce for all these years.

What should I do?
You grew and flew
Far far away to a place no one knew.
Cannot undo
What life has done to you. What to do?
Feeling so blue
Without you,
Should start anew but how can I continue?
I wish I knew
A way I can reach you. I'll pursue.

What should I do?
No one's around
To rescue me from this delusion somehow,
I'm falling now
To where my memories are profound.
There's no mistake.
This must be fate.
My existence - I'm willing to forsake.
At the gate,
Death awaits,
Isn't this great?

Now I opened my eyes and see you there.
Tell me this isn’t just a dream.
I smiled. My eyes are now just filled with tears.
Maybe… you’re just a memory.

I love the Korean song “What Should I Do? by Jisun (www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_g9Wa…)” because it's emotional and beautiful to me. A while ago, I wrote some English lyrics that I thought fit the melancholic tone. These lyrics have nothing to do with the original Korean lyrics. If you don’t know the song/music, you can still read this as a poem. :)
